LIMERICK - Injured prop Tony Woodcock's prospects of playing in the All Blacks' test against Wales on Sunday (NZT) have been further jeopardised by his citing for an act of foul play during the defeat of Ireland last weekend.
Woodcock and Ireland flanker Alan Quinlan were both facing disciplinary action and possible bans after being cited by English International Rugby Board match citing officer Peter Larter.
The All Blacks senior prop faces a charge of striking with the fist against an unspecified Irish opponent.
He was sinbinned following the incident in the 43rd minute of Sunday's 22-3 at Dublin's Croke Park.
Woodcock was yellow carded by South African referee Mark Lawrence on the advice of a touch judge.
He later left the field permanently after suffering a lower back injury, that continues to be monitored.
Quinlan, Ireland's blindside flanker, was charged with stomping on All Blacks No 8 Rodney So'oialo late in the first half.
Lawrence saw the incident but awarded Ireland a penalty for a ruck infringement, which Ronan O'Gara converted for the home side's only points.
