All Black halfback Piri Weepu acknowledges next week is the deadline to return to the playing field if he wants to make the end of year All Black tour.
Weepu has been battling a frustrating ankle injury for more than a month and is hoping to return next week to make his first Air New Zealand Cup appearance for Wellington. He sees it as his last chance.
Weepu says he has done everything he can to solve his ankle injury except subjecting himself to a "Samoan" massage, which he describes as just too tough, as whoever does it, really gets stuck in.
Weepu has been going to the gym and swimming pool to retain his fitness.
