Stand-in All Blacks captain Kieran Read is in doubt for the Rugby Championship test against Argentina on Sunday after missing training in Buenos Aires with an illness.
The All Blacks turned up to training today without Read, who was feeling unwell and elected to stay back at the team hotel.
Team management will monitor Read's condition over the next 24 hours with loose-forward utility Liam Messam the likely contender to move to No. 8 if he does not recover.
The All Blacks have already made two changes for their encounter at La Plata with hooker Andrew Hore returning in place of Dane Coles and Aaron Cruden replacing the injured Dan Carter.
