PROPS

Before Henry:

There was a gap at loosehead prop with a transplanted Greg Somerville the most likely option to partner Carl Hayman.

After Henry:

Tony Woodcock made his mark on the 2004 European tour as did Saimone Taumoepeau. This year, Henry has introduced little-known Canterbury prop Campbell Johnstone to the All Black mix.

LOCKS

Before Henry:

Chris Jack was the only world-class lock available, with Ali Williams an inconsistent partner, league convert Brad Thorn off the bench, and Jono Gibbes covering.

After Henry:

Henry successfully restarted Norm Maxwell's All Black career and has helped Williams recover some form and confidence. Also introduced James Ryan earlier this year.

BLINDSIDE FLANKERS

Before Henry:

Reuben Thorne.

After Henry:

Jerry Collins, complete with new ball skills; Jerome Kaino was introduced on the 2004 tour; Gibbes. In 2005, Sione Lauaki made the All Black 22 against the Lions.

NO 8s

Before Henry:

Collins, a failed experiment with Rodney So'oialo.

After Henry:

So'oialo transformed into a genuine international player; Mose Tuiali'i and Steven Bates introduced to the All Blacks in 2004. Lauaki also a possibility here.

HALFBACK

Before Henry:

Justin Marshall, Byron Kelleher,

Steve Devine.

After Henry:

Marshall and Kelleher, with Piri Weepu and Jimmy Cowan introduced in 2004. Maybe more depth needed here after Marshall's departure.

FIRST FIVE-EIGHTHS

Before Henry:

Andrew Mehrtens, Carlos Spencer.

After Henry:

Daniel Carter with Luke McAlister in the background and Nick Evans playing well but still not back in All Black favour. The most obvious area with work still to be done in terms of depth.

CENTRE

Before Henry:

After Henry:
