Kieran Read 7 Okay with the ball but not all that inspirational in leading his side out of a second half hole.
Ardie Savea 9 Magnificent. So much energy throughout, and prominent when the game was won in the first half.
Liam Squire 6 Not a big involvement and yellow card events worked against him, leaving him off the field.
Brodie Retallick 8 Huge start. Subbed early but made his mark. One big run, bumping off the formidable Isa.
Patrick Tuipulotu 8 Hurled himself into the game and one particularly powerful run. Kick-off receptions need work.
Owen Franks 7 Scrum went well, when it was 8 v 8.
Dane Coles 7 Looked for work but after fine early run through the middle, didn't shine in brutal battle.
Joe Moody 8 Probably his most active test - lots of tackles and showed a bit with the ball.
Reserves
Codie Taylor (Coles, 70m) - Token gesture considering the game was unravelling. Wyatt Crockett (Squire, 52m) 5 Lazy on defence and didn't grab the ball. Okay in tough scrum situation. Ofa Tu'ungafasi (Franks, 64m) 6 One solid little charge. Sam Whitelock (Retallick, 48m) 6 Tackled away, and grabbed loose ball to release the Pumas' grip. Elliot Dixon (Read 76m) - The evidence is scant, but seems to be struggling to make the grade so far Tawera Kerr-Barlow (Perenara, 69m) 5 Okay. Lima Sopoaga (Barrett, 76m) - Wonder what players really think of these token gestures. Damian McKenzie (Crotty, 50m) 6 The golden one had mixed debut with match disintegrating. Hurled into the trenches, did okay, odd nice move, but late mistakes.
Martin Landajo 5 Not much strategy and overshadowed by his replacement's vigour.
Facundo Isa 10 The ox. Staggering match with the ball - huge workload. Even offloads. Man of the match in defeat. Gets a rare 10 despite a couple of errors which were probably due to exhaustion.
Javier Ortega Desio 6 Essentially a defensive role which he did fairly well.
Pablo Matera 7 Solid game, although he didn't get far when he had the ball.
Matias Alemanno 5 Didn't figure highly.
Guido Petti 7 Went into the game with injury concerns and responded with good all round game.
Ramiro Herrera 5 Argentina needed more ball carrying from their tight forwards in the first half.
Agustin Creevy 6 Mixed bag from the great hooker. Prominent, but also scruffy including pivotal lineout stuff up which conceded a try.
Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro 5 Workmanlike. The Pumas' scrum dominance only arrived after All Black yellow cards.
Reserves
Julian Montoya (Creevy, 50m) 7 Made a bit of a mark driving the ball forward. Lucas Noguera (Chaparro, 52m) 5 Not much impact apart from in the scrum madness. Enrique Pieretto (Herrera, 64m) 5 Worked hard as the Pumas enjoyed the best of the game. Juan Manuel Leguizamon (Matera, 65m) 5 Did the Pumas dominate the second half, or fail to fully take advantage of their position? Leonardo Senatore (Alemanno, 57m) 5 Ditto Leguizamon. Tomas Cubelli (Landajo, 56m) 8 One player who did make a difference. Lots of excellent running - the mess suited him. Jeronimo de la Fuente (Sanchez, 69m) 5 No time to orchestrate anything. Matias Orlando (Moyano, 76m) -
