There were a few extra firefighters ready for action in Auckland yesterday as All Blacks got up close and personal with some of the city's emergency crews.
Several players met staff from the Central Police Station and Central Fire Station working on the Queen's Birthday public holiday.
They came armed with cakes and presented an All Blacks jersey to the fire department and one to police.
All Blacks wing Waisake Naholo is usually hot on anybody's heels when he runs across the field, but he looked very much at home as he geared up in a fireman's uniform — complete with a helmet and a hose over his shoulder.
The meet and greet was in acknowledgement of the work carried out by first-responders for the community.
