Dan Carter made his long-awaited return to the All Blacks today when he ran with the squad at a training camp in West Auckland.
The star first five-eighth tore his Achillies tendon during his French sabbatical in Perpignan in February and only returned to rugby last month.
He told media he hasn't thought about the injury during his recent games for Canterbury in the Air New Zealand Cup and added he felt comfortable back in the All Black environment.
After two straight losses to the Springboks, pressure is mounting for Carter to be included in next week's Tri-Nations test against Australia in Sydney, however coach Graham Henry would not say if he would definitely pick Carter in his squad.
Captain Richie McCaw said Carter has shown he is getting over his injury and says the team has to make it possible for the No 10 to go about his job if he is selected.
"We don't expect him to come back in and be the miracle man," McCaw said.
On criticism of the All Blacks' Tri-Nations form, Henry said the team has to "take it on the chin and do our best".
"We understand we're judged by past performances and not what we've done in our history," Henry said.
"When you lose two test matches and you're not happy about the way you play, you've got to be honest and open and frank about it."
