Former All Black wing Neil Purvis collapsed and died on his Otago farm on Sunday.
Purvis, 55, is reported to have collapsed while trying to save a cow from a mudhole.
Purvis was an outside back whose steady and reliable play first for Wairarapa-Bush and then between 1973 and 1981 for Otago won him All Black honours in 1976.
