While Ali Williams has arrived home and is not saying much, the Blues continue to be probed in South Africa on the All Black lock's sacking ahead of Sunday morning's Super 14 semifinal against the Sharks in Durban.
After making his third trip across the Indian Ocean in the space of a week, Williams was in no mood to talk to the waiting media upon his arrival in Auckland.
Flanked by two men including Rob Nicol of the New Zealand Players Association, Williams would only say that he had had a long flight and he just wanted to get home and see his family. He added he would speak more on the matter at a later time.
The All Black lock ignored all questions from reporters as he made his way to a waiting car.
The Blues trained for the first time in Durban this morning with manager Ant Strachan having to front local media about the Williams saga.
Strachan says Williams did not take the decision well. He says he was obviously disappointed but hopefully he has accepted it now and will move on.
The Blues are treating Williams' sacking as an injury setback. Antony Boric has arrived in Durban as Williams' replacement in the Blues squad.
