Wanganui will have the second Ranfurly Shield challenge of 2012, provided Taranaki successfully defends the log o wood against King Country.
The 2011 Meads Cup winners will have their chance to lift the Shield in a game scheduled for August 4th at Yarrow Stadium.
Ranfurly Shield protocol dictates the Union who retains the trophy at the conclusion of the ITM Cup season must grant a challenge to the Meads Cup winners.
King Country has the first challenge, in late July.
