Samoa had better luck in the second match of their short South African rugby tour, beating the Mpumalanga Pumas provincial team 24-17 in Nelspruit yesterday.
The Samoans, who led 16-5 at halftime, received a 42-point hiding from the Springboks in a one-off test last weekend.
The tour ends against the Free State Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Sunday.
There was no love lost between the Pumas and the highly-physical Samoans and each side had a player sent to the sinbin.
Teenage centre Carl Manu sparkled for Samoa, scoring a try in each half.
