Canterbury will play under the Cantabrians banner in a pre-season match against Tasman at the Kaikoura Rugby Club tomorrow.
It is the first of two pre-season games, which Canterbury head coach Tabai Matson said would serve partly as a trial for the Canterbury ITM Cup squad.
"We will be finalising our squad for the ITM Cup competition later this month, so these pre-season games are a chance for players to prove their worth and earn a spot in the Canterbury squad," Matson.
"The Cantabrians squad that will travel to Kaikoura tomorrow is a 50-50 mix of previous Canterbury squad members and fresh faces, so there is plenty of exciting new talent putting their hands up for consideration. The harder they make our job of selecting a final squad, the better."
