"It doesn't matter what age or background the applicants have," he said. "We'll be looking for someone who wants to get to know the team inside and out and who considers themselves a massive fan."
Candidates will be whittled down to the top five, who will then be interviewed by a panel including Jim Doyle.
A final selection will be made on June 12.
The successful candidate would have to help motivate and prep the team for game day at the team's final training session before a big game, offer moral support at the Vodafone Warriors vs Roosters game on June 13, meet and greet important team stakeholders and take part in media interviews following the game.
Mr Doyle said the opportunity will give his temporary deputy a taste of what the job was about.
He explained being a CEO is all about running a successful business.
"It's a business that gets measured every day.
"I want to ensure the Warriors succeed, both on and off the field."
However, Mr Doyle added the job was a challenge he enjoyed.
"It's a sport many Kiwis are passionate about," he said. "I enjoy helping them achieve success."
It's this more enjoyable side of the job that the team's temporary second-in-command will be privy to, in the two days on the job.
The job perks would also include a new Samsung Galaxy S6 loaded with $100 credit, a Barkers suit, a personal car park at Mt Smart Stadium, a personalised Vodafone Warriors jersey, accommodation at SkyCity and movie tickets for their day off.
All the perks, barring the carpark and the accommodation at SkyCity, were theirs to keep.
Vodafone's keen talent spotter, Matt Williams, encouraged all Vodafone customers to apply.
"The winner won't just get alongside their favourite team, but also take on New Zealand's sports apprenticeship at the iconic club."
Matiu Workman, a Warriors fan ever since the team made the grand final back in 2010, said he'd be putting his hand up for a chance at the job.
"The Warriors are heroes to a lot of people, including myself," he said. "It would be incredible to shake the hands of people I've watched play for 15 years."
