Tony Veitch and Michael Guerin discuss the key sporting issues from the weekend including whether this is the worst ever Warriors' season.
Should we be talking about Jarryd Hayne when we could be talking about the All Blacks?
Veitch: Let me say this. Jarryd Hayne, I don't give a stuff that he's an Australian, I don't give a stuff that he's not one of us, I don't give a stuff that people are saying to me, "Oh you lead your program with Jarryd Hayne, what about the All Blacks? We're two weeks away from the World Cup", it is a magnificent sporting story. If we can't grow up enough as a nation to sit back and recognise that, then you guys don't know sport.
Guerin: He's a movie of the week, it's going to be a great story - I'm not sure he's going to make it to the NFL, because it's awfully hard to do, but what he's done so far and what he gave up to do, it's important.
Actually I've got some All Black news coming out - nothing happened to the All Blacks today, nothing's going to happen tomorrow and almost certainly, nothing's going to happen on Wednesday. Nothing's going to happen for two weeks with the All Blacks.
Was this the worst Warriors season ever?
Veitch: Yeah they fought well last night, but in terms of a season this has turned into an absolute cluster-you-know-what - is it the worst ever?
Guerin: Most disappointing because it started really well and we're talking about the McFadden era being the new era - I tell you what though ... next year I guarantee you the Warriors will finish in the eight. All the blood-letting and all the anger they're getting now is crucial.
Veitch: No, because it's absolute BS and you are buying into all of this talk here. The players and you hear Ryan Hoffman on the program yesterday saying they've been developing the professionalism at the club - this should've happened.
Charles Piutau's future
Veitch: Rethink black-banning Charles Piutau, rethink it - the guy's shown loyalty, he's played unbelievably well for the All Blacks and the Blues need as much talent as they can get. Let him play the first half of SuperRugby next year.
Guerin: Well this suits the Blues. They want Auckland Rugby to be strong, let one of their best players - if not their best player next season - hang around and let the younger players learn from him. Who loses if Charles Piutau stays in New Zealand and plays the first half - nobody.
