Rugby League: Police recover stolen Warriors gear

The Warriors' weekend keeps getting better.

After putting in a superb performance to claim their fourth straight win, beating the Sydney Roosters 30-6, the Warriors have now had their stolen gear recovered.

The Warriors had expensive equipment and unique playing gear stolen from a club van last Sunday on the North Shore, leading police to release CCTV stills of the offenders.

Warriors players' uniforms, GPS units and a video drone were among the items stolen, but the police have now recovered all the stolen equipment.

"We're thrilled to learn from the police that they've recovered the stolen gear," said Warriors CEO Cameron George.

"It took some of the gloss off our terrific win over the Raiders but this news and last night's fantastic victory over the Sydney Roosters have made up for it.

"We'd especially like to thank all our fans and the public who helped the police in every way they could to bring about the return of the gear.

It will be a boost for the Warriors, who have another big game coming up this Saturday, against the North Queensland Cowboys at Mt Smart Stadium.

"We have a huge week ahead of us and getting our gear back has done so much to lift everyone's spirits."

Detective Sergeant Dean Miles of the North Shore police credited the help of the public for aiding in the recovery of the stolen property.

"As a result of information received from members of the public, Police found the property located at an address on the North Shore.

"Police made inquiries at the address, and recovered the property late on Friday 30 March.

"We'd like to thank members of the public for coming forward with information and the great team effort which has seen the property recovered."

A 25-year-old female was charged with receiving stolen property, and is due to appear in court this week. Inquiries are ongoing into the theft.
