"We were going a win and a loss all the time, then we had that bad period, so to win three is pleasing," said Brown. "[But] next week the Broncos, obviously from their first half of the year to the second they have made a lot of changes and they are starting to cause teams a lot of trouble. It will be another hard game and we will certainly need to play a little better next week."
Brown's caution is understandable, given the Warriors still require a perfect record from here, but their momentum is building.
"We had had our moments this year where we have been outclassed but apart from that, generally our games have been exciting ones," said Brown. "We certainly feel like we are progressing.
"Hopefully the last few weeks has shown we are moving in the right direction and against the Broncos we can put ourselves in a good spot and come up with some good plays."
There are endless permutations for the top eight.
Newcastle look safe after they squeaked home against the Sharks on Sunday night (16-14), with against the bottom two teams (Bulldogs and Brisbane) to come.
The Dragons (18) seem to be falling away and have a tough run, with the Rabbitohs and Roosters ahead.
Like the Warriors, the Tigers need to have a flawless finish, a difficult assignment with the Panthers and Sharks in their sights.
The Raiders have the pedigree, but a tough run (Sea Eagles, Warriors and Roosters).
The Titans have the finals in their own hands, but games against the Storm, Knights and Warriors will surely be a bridge too far.
The Sharks can knock the Tigers out of contention this week, ahead of games against the Broncos and Storm, though they could get fortunate if Melbourne rest players in the week before the finals.
The Warriors avoid the big guns over the next three weeks but face two teams in the finals fight (Raiders and Titans) as well as the resurgent Broncos.
But they have some impetus, at just the right time. Sunday's performance was a notch down on the previous two weeks – Brown conceded it was scrappy in the final 20 minutes of each half – but they banked the win.
The coach pinpointed Josh Curran, who was a standout, as well as Eliesa Katoa and Marcelo Montoya, among many strong contributors.
"Seeing some of the younger players starting to find some consistency and rhythm is important for our club going forward," said Brown.
The match also showed the developing relationship between Reece Walsh and Chanel Harris-Tavita – who combined for a clever try – while the alternating dummy halves of Wayde Egan and Kodi Nikorima was effective.
"We'd like to think we have got some stuff to work with there," said Brown of his young spine. "Hopefully we have some luck with them injury wise and they can stay on the field and all grow together and play together."
The Warriors will be boosted by the return of Dallin Watene-Zelezniak from suspension for the Broncos clash.
