NRL referees' boss Tony Archer has admitted the video bunker bungled a no-try decision against the Warriors during their win over the Roosters.
Archer said Roosters utility Aidan Guerra should have been sinbinned after grabbing Ryan Hoffman, who was chasing a grubber kick from Jeff Robson.
Archer says the bunker was correct in not awarding a penalty try, but the Roosters should have paid a heavier price than only conceding a penalty following Guerra's professional foul.
"Obviously there are a number of elements to this decision...it's not a penalty try because (Roosters fullback) Latrell Mitchell is very present there and the ball is loose," said Archer.
"In relation to the interference, only a penalty was awarded. It is the responsibility of all officials to assess the seriousness - in this particular breach the player should have been sin binned."
