Warriors prop James Gavet has escaped charge and an appointment with the NRL judiciary after being placed on report for a dangerous tackle in Sunday's loss to Melbourne Storm.

Gavet was penalised for the incident in the 34th minute and placed on report by referee Henry Perenara, after he made a diving tackle around the legs of Storm fullback Cameron Munster.

Warriors coach Andrew McFadden expressed his dismay at Perenara's call, and the match review committee agreed, after deciding Gavet had no case to answer.

"I think it was ridiculous," said a furious McFadden.

"Since when can't you tackle one on one low?

"I know it was an awkward tackle at the end, but that happens in a contact game. But there was nothing illegal with the tackle.

"It was ridiculous he got put on report. The bloke (Munster) finished the game. It's common sense."

The Warriors, who are winless after three rounds, will be relieved to have the hard running and heavy hitting Gavet on board for Easter Monday's must-win home encounter with the Newcastle Knights.

Meanwhile, Kiwis international and Parramatta Eels captain Kieran Foran has been charged with a grade one contrary conduct charge after making contact with referee Matt Checchin in the 45th minute of Friday night's win over the Canterbury Bulldogs.

An early guilty plea will still allow Foran to play Wests Tigers next Monday.

Six other players were charged with South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Paul Carter risking up to two weeks out for a grade two dangerous contact charge on St George Illawarra Dragons' Mike Cooper. An early guilty plea will see him suspended for one match.

Newcastle Knights flyer Sione Mata'utia has been booked for a grade one dangerous throw on Canberra Raiders lock Shaun Fensom, and faces a one-match ban.

Wests Tigers back-rower Chris Lawrence is also facing a one-match suspension for a dangerous throw on Gold Coast Titans forward Ryan James.

Penrith and former Warriors forward Jeremy Latimore has also been slapped with a grade one dangerous contact charge on Brisbane Broncos wing Greg Eden, and faces a one-match ban.

South Sydney Rabbitohs utility Kirisome Auva'a has been charged with grade one dangerous contact on Dragons centre Euan Aitken, but can escape penalty with an early guilty plea.

Panthers front-rower and former Kiwis international Sam McKendry has been charged with a grade one careless high tackle on Broncos prop Josh McGuire, but can still play in the Easter Sunday game against the Dragons, with an early guilty plea.
