The Warriors will show support for the New Zealand soccer team at the World Cup by turning out in white for their National Rugby League match against St George Illawarra on June 6.
Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah said today the club will honour Ricki Herbert's All Whites side when they play St George Illawarra at Mt Smart stadium, which was the spiritual home for New Zealand football's first World Cup heroes in 1981-82.
"There's no bigger event for a single sport in the world so we want to make a fuss about it," Scurrah said.
"And what better way to celebrate it than to create some feeling at a ground that means so much to not only us but also to the All Whites when they qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 1982."
The soccer World Cup begins in South Africa on June 12 with the All Whites playing their opening match against Slovakia in Rustenberg on June 15.
