Warriors hooker Nathan Friend needs surgery after dislocating his right shoulder in last Sunday's loss to Penrith at Mt Smart.
It is hoped Friend, who was helped off the field 27 minutes into the game, will have his operation next week.
He faces a four- to five-month recovery, leaving him set to return to full training early in the New Year. He had surgery on his left shoulder last year, bringing an early end to his Gold Coast career.
Friend missed five matches earlier this season after breaking his jaw in the club's victory against Brisbane.
