NRL: Konrad Hurrell takes early guilty plea

Warriors centre Konrad Hurrell will miss three games of the NRL season afetr accepting an early guilty plea for his dangerous contact offence against the Sharks on Saturday.

The Warriors have today decided not to contest the grade three dangerous contact offence Hurrell was charged with after his collision with Cronulla forward Anthony Tupou.

Tupou was left bloodied with a broken jaw and was taken to hospital in an ambulance before undergoing surgery.

While the club believes the incident was accidental the Warriors have accepted the charge.

"I know the outcome probably wasn't that great but I didn't think there was much in it," Warriors coach Andrew McFadden said.

"He might have raised it a bit, it's pretty typical of Konrad to run like that. He sort of turns his hip into people so I thought it was accidental and maybe even that Tupou just put his head on the wrong side."

Hurrell will miss the Warriors' next three games against Parramatta (May 16) at Pirtek Stadium, Newcastle (May 31) at Mount Smart Stadium and South Sydney (June 6) in Perth.

The club has a bye in the 11th round.
