On the back of signing Brett Seymour, the Warriors have added another playmaker to their roster - unheralded 23 year-old James Maloney from the Melbourne Storm.
Maloney has been back up to Cooper Cronk, but with Cronk seldom injured, Maloney has only made four NRL appearances.
The Warriors beat off challenges from the Wests Tigers and Parramatta to sign Maloney, who last year led Wentworthville to the New South Wales Premier League title.
Coach Ivan Cleary says he was tipped off by former North Sydney Bear Greg Florimo about Maloney's potential, and with the Storm unlikely to fit him under the salary cap the Warriors pounced. Primarily a halfback goalkicker, Maloney can also play five-eighth and adds to the halves jigsaw puzzle for next season.
