KEY POINTS:
The Warriors are keeping their feet on the ground after their emphatic 36-6 final trial win over the Bulldogs at North Harbour Stadium.
New fullback Wade McKinnon, who scored the best of the Warriors' six tries, said there was plenty of improvement in the side.
"Even though the result was pretty big, we know there were times we stuffed up," he said. "These are just trials. Things are going to work for us. We just need to make sure it works for us in round one."
The Saturday night match was the Warriors' final pre-season hit-out before they open their NRL campaign at home against Parramatta in a fortnight but it still attracted a 15,000-strong crowd.
The Warriors went in without key players, backrower Micheal Luck joining Wairangi Koopu and Louis Anderson on the sidelines after withdrawing late with a leg injury.
The Bulldogs also had first-choice personnel missing but did have the likes of Sonny Bill Williams, Willie Mason, Andrew Ryan, Willie Tonga and Luke Patten on deck.
Warriors coach Ivan Clearly said the performance was a step up from the 32-14 defeat to North Queensland in Mackay last weekend.
"I thought we improved a lot as the game went on in certain areas."
