KEY POINTS:
Warriors captain Steve Price said last night's NRL playoffs loss to Parramatta at Mt Smart Stadium proved you have to make the most of your opportunities.
"Logan [Swann] probably could have passed it and there were a couple of other opportunities. But they are a good team and that's what semifinals are like."
Price acknowledged that it was one of his side's better defensive performances.
"We just put ourselves under pressure. We weren't hanging on to the ball, and giving them that much possession in our half is always going to come back and bite you, I suppose, and it did."
Price said the crowd was awesome.
"We are just really sorry we can't play here next week. Whatever happens over the weekend we deal with and move on."
Eels captain Nathan Cayless said it was a massive win.
"We knew we had to keep this crowd quiet. We did that for most of the game and the boys came out really strong.
"We really controlled the ball in the first half, probably a bit scrappy by the Warriors, but to get the win over here has been awesome."
Cayless said his team knew they really had to pick up their intensity and control.
"We did that really well tonight. I am really proud of the boys. We hung in there. I think they had about five or six sets in a row and we didn't crack. That was the turning point."
The Eels will now play the loser of tonight's Cowboys v Bulldog match at Townsville Stadium.
"They are both going to be tough," Cayless said.
"It is going to be tough every week but we will enjoy this win tonight and get home and look after ourselves and get ready for another big one next week."
Vodafone Warriors coach Ivan Cleary said he was proud of his side, half of whom had not appeared before in the playoffs, where the speed of the game went up a notch.
He agreed that the period in the second half when the Warriors had the series of consecutive sets but couldn't put points on the board was probably key to the result.
"You could feel it was going to be the turning point one way or the other, building through those sets," he said.
"They ended up defending really well and then they got a couple of cheap penalties to come out of trouble."
