KEY POINTS:
SYDNEY - The New Zealand Warriors could lose their goalkicker Tony Martin and five-eighth Michael Witt for Saturday's NRL match against Newcastle after they were each charged yesterday with a dangerous throw.
Both were placed on report by referee Gavin Badger for a dangerous throw on former Warrior Misi Taulapapa in the 30th minute of Saturday's 22-20 loss to Cronulla in Auckland.
Martin was charged with a grade two offence and will miss two matches with an early guilty plea, or three matches if he contests the charge and loses tomorrow.
Witt's grade one charge carries a one-match ban if he admits it, or is found guilty. The Warriors are already without fullback Wade McKinnon for the Newcastle clash as he completes a two-match ban for pushing a referee.
Martin and Witt were the only Warriors charged by the NRL match review committee yesterday, with Logan Swann, Ruben Wiki and Nathan Fien also placed on report but escaping charges.
Swann appeared the luckiest to escape after his high shoulder charge, penalised by Badger, flattened Cronulla's Adam Dykes.
Wiki and Fien were both reported for high tackles, while Cronulla's Lance Thompson also escaped charges for a high shot on Swann.
