The Warriors have nailed a crucial NRL win beating the Newcastle Knights 13-nil at Mt Smart Stadium. It is the second home game in a row where the Warriors did not concede a point.
But the result may have come at a cost: halfback Stacey Jones suffered a groin problem. Jones picked up the injury in the first half, but continued playing through the second half. Warriors' coach Ivan Cleary says it may not have been the best idea. He says Jones was not in a good way at half-time but he kept playing and you could tell he was struggling.
The win lifts the Warriors to 10th on the points table, three points outside the top eight.
The Bulldogs went to the top of the table after thrashing the Broncos 44-22 at Suncorp Stadium.
