Manu Vatuvei is being praised by teammates and staff after he made a significant sacrifice.
Following the Vodafone Warrior's 24-22 win over the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday night, the winger's wife, Jen, went into labour at 3am on Sunday.
While Vatuvei tried desperately to return home from Brisbane to his wife's side, he missed the birth of his newest daughter. Vatuvei kept instagram and twitter followers up to date throughout the nail-biting dash home. When he finally touched down, Vatuvei posted a photo of baby Eva he had been sent.
Warriors head coach Matthew Elliott said all the players and staff were delighted for Vatuvei.
"We also want to acknowledge Manu for the sacrifice he made, missing one of the most important moments of his life because he was away from home fighting for his club."
