The NZRL's judiciary committee will sit on Monday to hear an application from Shaun Metcalf for readmission to the game.
Metcalf and friends Geoffrey Ruaporo and Kyle Donovan want registration to play for the Otahuhu club after completing sentences for an assault on the former Warriors development player's pregnant girlfriend which was intended to cause her to miscarry.
They will present submissions to a panel led by QC Simon Lockhart.
Decisions are usually announced after a hearing but in this case the NZRL board has asked that the panel hold its result until Tuesday to allow time to prepare its reaction to what is expected to be a controversial result either way.
