The news that Souths will lose Bryan Fletcher at the end of this season has not shaken the side or lessened their resolve for the game against the Warriors tomorrow.
Fletcher was pictured in the Sydney papers talking to management from Salford some days ago, so it was not a surprise when he told the Rabbitohs on Wednesday that he was off to England, where he has signed for two years with Wigan.
The 30-year-old is in his third season as Souths captain, but is out of the Warriors game with a hamstring tear.
Without the MacDougall brothers Adam and Luke - the elder injured and the younger suspended - Souths lose significant strike power.
Replacement skipper Ashley Harrison is suspended, too. Hooker Shane Walker has a hamstring strain and is also ruled out.
Trent Young plays his second game, replacing Walker after making his debut when the Warriors thrashed Souths at Ericsson Stadium in round four.
The Rabbitohs' bench includes the 120kg Manase Manuokafoa, the largest man in the NRL.
It will be the Warriors' 250th game in the Aussie premiership, with the record showing 114 wins, 131 losses and four draws.
They have lost both games played at tomorrow night's venue, North Sydney Oval.
The Warriors expect more news today on a return date for centre Tony Martin, who has a neck/shoulder problem.
