Steve Price has been confirmed as captain of the Warriors.
The 30-year-old spoke to the players yesterday after training and they promised support.
Price said his appointment as captain of the Bulldogs had lifted his game to another level and he was hoping to achieve the same with the Warriors.
Last year's skipper, Monty Betham, will be vice-captain and coach Tony Kemp said he expected the pair to learn from each other.
Price had the NRL experience and Betham could teach him about the people and culture in the club.
Kemp said he was fortunate to have good leadership in the club.
The decision to name Price came after the full Warriors squad had assembled following the Kiwi tour and after the coaching staff had seen how everyone interacted.
Majority owner Eric Watson has been in Auckland this week.
Jerome Ropati, Sione Faumuina, Wiki and Price have had end-of-season surgery and are expected to take part in full contact work next month.
