League: New Zealand Warriors stars cleared to play Penrith Panthers in NRL playoffs

The Warriors have received a boost with captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and retiring forward Simon Mannering both set to play in tomorrow's sudden death NRL playoff clash in Sydney.

Tuivasa-Sheck has been given the green light after getting through his first training session of the week at the side's captain's run at ANZ Stadium this morning.

The 25-year-old fullback has been in doubt all week after suffering an ankle injury in the late stages of last week's final round win over Canberra at Mt Smart Stadium.

Mannering is also in line to make his 301st career appearance after nursing a sternum injury that forced him from the field in his milestone match against the Raiders.

The Warriors updated their squad today with back-up half Mason Lino and young front
rower Chris Satae dropping off their extended bench.

Meanwhile, Penrith have trimmed reserve hooker Wayde Egan and forward Kaide Ellis from their 21-man squad named on Tuesday.

Panthers boss Phil Gould informed fans via social media this afternoon that the squad had to forgo their captain's run at ANZ Stadium this afternoon due to the possibility of storms and possible cancellation of the session.

The Western Sydney outfit instead went through their final paces at the Panthers Academy at Penrith.
