KEY POINTS:
Seven Junior Warriors have been included in a 21-man squad for the pre-season trial against the Auckland Vulcans at Henham Park, Otahuhu, on Saturday.
Loose forward Scott Jones, prop Russell Packer, fullback Kevin Locke and second rower Ben Matulino - all from the NYC under-20 squad - were given game time by coach Ivan Cleary in last Friday night's NRL trial against Newcastle.
The same four players are set for more action this week after being included in the squad along with utility Constantine Mika, who was on the bench against the Knights but didn't play, plus prop Leeson Ah Mau and utility Elijah Taylor.
Also in the line-up are forwards Toleafoa Leaupepe and Herman Retzlaff, who played for the Auckland Vulcans against the Vodafone Junior Warriors in last Friday night's curtainraiser.
Off-season signings, hooker Ian Henderson and centre-winger Ryan Shortland will play again as will a number of established first graders, 2007 Kiwis Sam Rapira, Lance Hohaia and Epalahame Lauaki plus Evarn Tuimavave, Nathan Fien, Michael Witt, Grant Rovelli and Patrick Ah Van. Also included are NRL squad members Sonny Fai and Malo Solomona, who were both used against the Knights.
Not involved in this trial again will be centre Brent Tate, winger Michael Crockett, captain Steve Price, centre Jerome Ropati and second rower Logan Swann. They're all in line to play in the final trial against Manly at Quad Park on the Sunshine Coast.
Sitting out the trial will be a number of players used against Newcastle including Ruben Wiki, Micheal Luck, Simon Mannering, Manu Vatuvei and Wairangi Koopu as well as Wade McKinnon, now out with a knee injury, and Aidan Kirk, who left the field with a hamstring twinge last Friday night.
