Former Kangaroos league hardman Mark Geyer is calling for the Warriors to be dumped from the NRL.
Geyer has made the claims in an article in the Australian-published magazine Rugby League Week.
Geyer says the increasing popularity of Aussie Rules in league strongholds means Australia should focus more on its own country before contributing to the New Zealand game.
Geyer says it is called the National Rugby League and he can not believe the fact that they call it that and all they have are teams on the Eastern Seaboard.
He says they have nothing from South or Western Australia, but a team from New Zealand.
Geyer says the Warriors have been an experiment and thus far it has failed, with only three playoff appearances, and the poor results indicate it is time to let the franchise loose.
Geyer says, realistically, he does not believe the Warriors will be kicked out of the competition
