KEY POINTS:
Don't expect a tear to creep into the corner of Logan Swann's eye on Saturday when he makes his return for the club he calls home.
Swann is looking forward to his first competitive match for the Warriors in three years but is keeping a lid on his emotions.
And he wants to set the record straight, too: "For the record, that day I left it was raining. The family and friends were sitting right at the back of the grandstand so I had to look up and there were lots of water drops falling on my eyes.
"I wasn't crying then and I probably won't be crying this time around."
But he will be a touch emotional.
"I like to play it down a little bit and just really focus on game day, otherwise you don't tend to sleep too well.
"But it is going to be exciting pulling on the Warriors jersey and running out at Mt Smart, seeing the loyal fans and mum and dad and my sister in the stand. It is going to be great."
Swann's return to the club he made 145 appearances for appears to have been seamless, as coach Ivan Cleary is slotting him straight into the second row in his opening day line-up.
The 32-year-old has been around the traps longer than most but he admits returning to the Warriors after stints with Bradford and Warrington was a step into the unknown.
"I didn't know what to expect. I just wanted to get myself in the best possible condition and keep in a positive frame of mind.
"I wasn't banking on making the starting team or anything like that."
The Warriors may be brimming with confidence after clicking in their final trial win over the Bulldogs, but Swann knows Saturday's match against Parramatta marks the real beginning of hostilities.
"It was a good effort over the Bulldogs, but that doesn't cut it at the end of the day. We don't get two points from that."
