Warriors winger Todd Byrne faces surgery and up to eight weeks on the sideline after breaking his right arm early in Saturday's NRL clash against Cronulla.
Byrne, 27, broke the radius in his right arm five minutes into the match when he was involved in a tackle.
He and team doctor John Mayhew returned home ahead of the rest of the team yesterday to visit a specialist.
Byrne was scheduled for surgery later this week to have a rod inserted in his arm.
Saturday night's match was the winger's first for the Warriors since the loss to the Bulldogs on April 30.
He had been on target to make is 100th first-grade appearance this season but, with his tally now sitting on 91, those plans are now unlikely.
Mayhew said Byrne could be fit to play again in late July after eight weeks of recuperation. Their round 21 match is away to Penrith.
