New Zealand Warriors hooker Monty Betham may have played his last game of the season after being charged by the National Rugby League match review committee today.
Betham was slapped with a grade one dangerous throw charge following the Warriors' 10-22 loss at Melbourne on Saturday night.
If he unsuccessfully fights the charge, the veteran utility will miss the Warriors' last two regular season games. Betham will be banned for one match with an early guilty plea.
The Warriors are at home to Newcastle this weekend and travel to Manly a week later. They have a bye in the final round.
Elsewhere, Cronulla backrower Cameron Ciraldo faces a two-game ban for a grade four careless high tackle on Sydney Roosters centre Ryan Cross.
Ciraldo caught Cross -- in his first match back from a six-game ban for eye gouging -- high in the 23rd minute of the Sharks' 8-14 loss to the Roosters last Saturday night.
He will escape with a one-match ban with an early plea.
Meanwhile, Manly's Steve Matai faces a one match ban for a grade one careless high tackle on Newcastle prop Craig Smith from the Knights' 22-14 upset over the Sea Eagles yesterday.
Souths halfback Ben Walker has been charged with a grade one careless high tackle but will escape suspension.
