League: Anzac test safe, says Scurrah

Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah is allaying fears over a potential boycott of the Kiwis league test against the Kangaroos in May.

Australia's Daily Telegraph has reported NRL clubs and players are considering boycotting the test if the establishment of an independent commission continues to be delayed by the Australian Rugby League.

Wayne Scurrah says it is purely a rumour and he has talked to a number of NRL club bosses who have never mentioned it. He points out the idea of a boycott was never floated at a commission meeting last week.

However, one NRL club chief executive has confirmed to the paper that "boycotting the test match was a definite option".

Any boycott would raise serious legal issues with NRL clubs bound to an agreement to release their players for all representative football.
