1. Locked in
Kevin Locke says he will "definitely" be at the Warriors next season. Stories continue to circulate that Locke is seeking an early release from his contract at Mt Smart Stadium (he's contracted until the end of 2014) because of the impending arrival of England fullback Sam Tomkins but Locke denies that is the case. He has shown interest in playing in the halves, and wing is another option, but it's difficult to see him usurping Tomkins in his preferred position, given the money the Warriors are said to be forking out for their new recruit.
2. Farmed out
Troubled kids are sometimes sent to boot camps or farms to try to help them sort out their lives and it seems the Eels will attempt a similar approach with halfback Chris Sandow. The Daily Telegraph reported Sandow, who owes money from his gambling habit despite earning A$550,000 ($626,675) a year, will spend up to three weeks at an indigenous healing farm near Port Macquarie where he will be mentored by former Newcastle, Wests and Souths player Owen Craigie, who once blew A$1.5 million through a gambling addiction.
