Rugby League: Warriors take post-points breathing technique from All Blacks

For the Warriors, coming together simply to breathe is now an important part of their game plan.

The Warriors displayed a unique post-points celebration in their win over their 32-20 South Sydney Rabbitohs in Perth last Saturday, with the team huddling and taking deep breaths.

Captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck explained it was a way of keeping the team focused, and it was borrowed from a team that know what it takes to win.

"It's something we got off [All Blacks captain] Kieran Read when he came into camp over the trip in Papamoa [n January].

"It's just to bring everyone back in, refocus and get ready for what's next."

Tuivasa-Sheck said it was one of a number of new tricks the side were trying this season to maintain their focus and stay on task.

With new recruits such as premiership winning forward Tohu Harris joining the club this year, they had brought some techniques with them that the Warriors were looking to adapt.

However, Tuivasa-Sheck didn't give any more away when speaking to media on Tuesday.

"There's too many. The breathing thing was one from Kieran Read ... there's a few small things that we've brought into our system."

Their new techniques to improve focus seemed to work in their first test of the year as the side claimed their first win in Perth in 10 attempts.

It was a strong performance from the side, and one they would hope provides some momentum ahead of their home opener against the Gold Coast Titans at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday.

Both teams come into the match on the back of a win, with the Titans stealing a late victory from the Canberra Raiders.
