BLACKBURN - Halftime entertainment took a bizarre twist during the test between Great Britain and the Kiwis yesterday, with security staff at Ewood Park showing an unusual reluctance to deal with a large, slow-moving male streaker.
Stewards and police allowed the man to wobble on to the pitch where - with great difficulty - he managed to struggle out of an ill-fitting shirt and underpants.
He then lurched through a series of forward rolls, the last of which took place on an advertising logo that appropriately reminded spectators of the dangers of alcohol.
His progress was even followed by the ground announcer for two minutes and it was left to Great Britain's Lion mascot to make the first attempt to collar him.
The streaker evaded the mascot and then, as security staff finally closed in, he had enough time to pick up his clothing before being led away.
