The Kiwis' worst fears have been confirmed ahead of Friday's ANZAC league test in Newcastle.
Captain Ruben Wiki is set to miss the match after being charged with a grade one reckless high tackle by the NRL judiciary.
Wiki's previous poor record at the judiciary means even a guilty plea will see him miss at least four matches, including the test.
His Raiders club have yet to decide if they will defend the charge.
However, national teammate Joe Galuvao has escaped punishment after he was also placed on report at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Brisbane Broncos forward Petero Civoneciva has been ruled out of the Kangaroos team to play the match.
Civoneciva has knee ligament damage and has been replaced by Bulldogs captain Steve Price.
