Rugby League: Kiwis run in 12 tries to beat Lebanon

The Kiwis have scored 12 tries to thump Lebanon 64-nil in their opening match at the Rugby League World Cup in Britain.

Willie Talau, Ritchie Barnett, debutante Tonie Carroll, Stacey Jones and Lesley Vainikolo all scored two tries each for New Zealand, while Brian Jellick and Logan Swann also got on the scoresheet.

New Zealand led 26-nil at halftime.

In other results, Warriors player Clinton Toopi scored two tries as the New Zealand Maori side downed Scotland 17-16, and Fiji beat Russia 38-12.
