Iestyn Harris is set to resume his interrupted Great Britain career after being named in the squad to face New Zealand in the Tri-Nations in Huddersfield tomorrow.
Harris, who was last capped when the tournament was played in the southern hemisphere in 1999, has been included in the 19 preparing for the match, although the Great Britain coach, Brian Noble, did not reveal whether he or Danny McGuire will start at stand-off.
Harris, only three months into his second rugby league career after returning from Welsh union, was left out of the side to face Australia last week. Harris is one of the British players affected by a virus this week, along with the captain, Andy Farrell. Both should be fit for tomorrow night.
Harris is one of four players not involved last week to be added to the squad. The others are Paul Johnson and Sean O'Loughlin, who both suffered from the illness last week, and the St Helens hooker, Mickey Higham, who looks set for a place on the bench.
New Zealand have drafted in the British-based Shontayne Hape and Ali Lauiti'iti. Hape makes his Test debut on the left wing in place of Bradford team-mate Lesley Vainikolo, who is having a knee operation.
Clinton Toopi plays alongside him, rather than Paul Whatuira, who faced Australia two weeks ago. Lauiti'iti, the Leeds second-rower, has been recalled to the substitutes as Roy Asotasi misses out with an ankle injury.
