Sam Burgess' fairytale exit from rugby league has continued with the former South Sydney enforcer being named the RLIF International Player of the Year at a function in Brisbane.
Burgess becomes the first Englishman to win the award after holding off a group of nominees that included compatriot James Graham, Dally M Medal winners Johnathan Thurston and Jarryd Hayne.
