A New Zealand woman who had group sex with Cronulla rugby league players - including television personality Matthew Johns - in a Christchurch hotel seven years ago says she "wants them dead".
"If I had a gun I'd shoot them right now. I hate them, they're disgusting. I want them dead, I hate them so much," she said on Australia's Four Corners programme.
The woman's comments have led NRL chief David Gallop to issue an apology on behalf of the sport. He said the programme "dealt with issues that I would hope everyone in the game finds appalling and unacceptable".
This scandal came after another incident earlier this year during the 2009 NRL season launch. Manly's glamour boy Brett Stewart was accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl after a night on the booze.
