The Warriors have made no secret of the fact they are pursuing the services of rugby league star Kieran Foran.
The troubled Kiwi has had a tumultuous year both in and out of the NRL battling with personal problems, and has subsequently taken a hiatus from the game.
But speaking to Mike Hosking this morning on Newstalk ZB, Warriors chief executive Jim Doyle said in an ideal situation, 'the good Kieran Foran' would be joining them in 2017.
"He got himself into a little bit of a dark place," Doyle said. "But he's working through that now and we would expect if he did come to the club, that he'd get himself in a good position where he is well and you get the good Kieran Foran."
This coming after question marks were raised over whether or not Foran is ready to come back to the game given his instability.
