Gold Coast youngster Karl Lawton has praised Kiwi international Shaun Johnson for a message of support after injuring his leg on his NRL debut.
Lawton broke his leg and dislocated his ankle in a horror moment during the Titans' loss to the Warriors in Auckland last Saturday.
The 20-year-old says Warriors playmaker Johnson sent him a text asking how he was and wishing him all the best after the match, describing it as a "true show of character".
Warrior Issac Luke also showed true compassion for Lawton, shaking his hand and wishing him well before he was driven off the field by the ambulance.
