Warriors halfback Shaun Johnson occupies the right edge on attack, which is apparently out near where his political loyalties lie. When asked who he will be voting for in next month's election, the 23-year-old laughed and replied: "I didn't even know that it was compulsory [to enrol] to vote so that's how informed I am on it. I don't know, John Key seems to be doing an all-right job so hopefully he can stay on." After giving the issue deeper thought, the big-money star asked: "Which one [candidate] is saying he'll adjust the tax rates? I'll go with him."
Mogg the would-be polygamist
Adam Mogg showed a quick wit in response to a reporter jokingly mistaking him for Shaun Johnson. The Warriors assistant coach chuckled and hit back with: "I wish I looked like him. How good would that be? I'd have six wives."
40/20 rule revamp
Last night's match between Canterbury and Wests Tigers was played under the revised 40/20 restart rule, following last week's debacle in the Eels' loss to the Bulldogs. The NRL yesterday rushed through the new clarification that allows teams to continue using the tap kick but only after the referee has blown his whistle. The change lets referees allow defending teams reasonable time to get into position before signalling a restart of play. Go back to giving them scrums, I say.
