KEY POINTS:
If you think you're a dab hand at predicting rugby scores, this may be the weekend to have a plunge.
The TAB's Rugby Pools (actually involving union and league) will jackpot this weekend to the previously unforeseen level of around $400,000.
Punters have found it too tough lately to accurately pick the outcomes of the ten selected Air New Zealand Cup and NRL matches needed to win the big prize.
That's not too surprising, since three of the ten matches this last weekend ended (at the end of normal time, 80 minutes) in draws.
Any match all tied up at fulltime traditionally wrecks the tickets of most Pools bettors.
The previous biggest jackpot amount the Pool reached was way back in 1999, when 12 lucky punters shared a $368,000 windfall - or $30,700 each.
If you want to do some homework before placing your wager, here are the ten matches for this coming weekend:
1 Waikato v Counties
2 Hawkes Bay v North Harbour
3 Brisbane v Bulldogs (80 mins)
4 Melbourne v Parramatta (80 mins)
5 Southland v Auckland
6 Taranaki v Otago
7 Canterbury v Wellington
8 Nth Qld v St George-Illawarra (80 mins)
9 Canberra v Warriors (80 mins)
10 Manawatu v Bay of Plenty
You need to select the winning team and whether the margin will be 12-and-under or 13-plus.
Or, of course, you could go for the draw. There's been a few of them about lately.
