Rugby pools all over for another year

The TAB rugby pools have finished for the winter 2006 season.

Nobody struck the first division jackpot this week (all ten matches correct), or even reached nine out of ten, so the pool was divided among nine punters who picked the correct result and margin in eight matches.

The nine each pick up $4166.

This pool normally involves a mixture of rugby and league, but this time it comprised only Air New Zealand Cup and Heartland rugby matches, with the NRL season having concluded with the Grand Final a week earlier.

With only two semifinals in each rugby competition remaining to be played this coming weekend, there aren't enough matches to keep the pools going.

The rugby pools will return again with the commencement of the Super 14 and the 2007 NRL season early next year.
